Angela Evelyn Bassett (born April 15, 1961) is an American actor. Angela Evelyn is an American actress. Bassett was raised at Winston-Salem North Carolina, raised by her aunt who lived in New York New York. Bassett's mother had split from her father when she was about five. She and her younger sister then relocated into St. Petersburg Florida with their mother. Bassett was in high school when she watched James Earl Jones staring John Steinbeck play Of Mice and Men and realized that her desire of becoming an actor had been realized. Yale University New Haven Connecticut gave her a bachelor's degree (1980) which was in African American study, and a graduate degree (1983) in the Yale School of Drama. Courtney B. Vance met her at Yale and, in 1997 they got married. Qualification: B.A. Graduated from Yale School of Drama School with a master's in African American studies in 1980.
